Robotic welders get asked about a lot, mostly by shop owners who can't find enough welders. There's a reason the question comes up: a robot doesn't call in sick. But a robotic welding cell isn't a replacement for a skilled person; it's a production tool for repetitive joints.
In my experience, the math only works when you're welding the same joint in high volume.
